Riding up a hill

Dave has been taking care of our farrier needs since 2001. Always on time, always on schedule. One of the most professional farriers I have met. We do competitive trail riding (NATRC) and endurance riding. Soundness and way of going are the key to success, and that starts with the feet.  Dave knows his craft well. His expertise and skill have contributed to National Championships, 1st place in the nation awards, and finishing the toughest endurance ride in the nation, The Tevis Cup.

David has worked on my dressage horses since I moved to Texas in October 2012. He shoes my private horses as well as my training and competition horses ranging from four year olds to seasoned FEI horses. David does an incredible job balancing each horse's feet and addressing any issues that may arise to keep the horses sound and comfortable. As a result I have had no soundness issues related to any of my horses' feet nor do they rarely throw a shoe. In addition to being an amazing farrier, David is also a very empathic horseman and treats the horses well. He has put on shoes on many green horses that have never been hot fitted or worn any shoes. They all respond very well to David's calm and reaffirming attitude and I don't have to worry about any of them being afraid or developing bad habits in the cross ties. I highly recommend David!

David Edens has been shoeing my horses for almost twenty years.  Not once in those years have I had to call him to schedule a shoeing.  My farm is on his schedule and he calls or texts me to set up our appointments.  David's kept all my horses sound, the Percheron, the Trakehners, the Thoroughbreds with terrible feet, a paint, and grade horses.  Shod or trimmed, they all get the same great care.  When I got my first off-the-track Thoroughbred we lost a few shoes before her hooves grew strong enough to keep them on.  One call to David and he'd come by my farm to nail it back on within a day or two at the most. Once he came to the farm to replace a shoe but I was at my trainer's 8 miles up the road.  David found me at the training barn and re shod the mare.  Once he met me on a Sunday in a parking lot so I wouldn't miss my lesson.  I've never met another farrier who would do anything like that.  He's simply the best, most reliable farrier I've ever known.
